A friend gave me a recipe for cashew cream. I was excited to try the recipe because I knew cashew could be used to be a replacement for milk/cream or as cheese in certain recipes.
The ingredients are basic and the steps are simple – just the kind of recipes I like to use and share.
I tried making both the creamy cashew pudding and the cashew cheese spread.
My cashew cream and cheese came out looking nothing like the links with the recipes below because I don’t have a high speed blender. I used my smoothie blender. The texture definitely was not perfect but it still tasted great!
I used the sweet cashew cream as a dip and as a bread spread and I could just imagine this on carrot cake. The cashew cheese I also used as a dip and bread spread. I’m sure they could be paired with lots of other things.
Here are the links to the recipes I used:
- Creamy Cashew Pudding
- Raw Cream Cheese Icing (this recipe includes coconut oil)
- Simple Cashew Cheese Spread
Have you tried making cashew cream? How did yours turn out?
