I love ice cream but I do not love the guilt that comes with eating half a tub in one sitting. I’m a sweet tooth and very particular when it comes to desserts. I decided to try making my own ice cream but found that using an ice cream maker was too complicated for me so I decided to try using frozen bananas as the base since I was looking for a healthier option anyway.
I wasn’t disappointed! And what I love is how versatile this recipe is. You can swap out any of the ingredients as long as you use frozen bananas. You can add on vanilla or nuts. You can also put in other frozen/fruits like strawberries, blueberries or mangoes.
You can eat this in a cone or straight from the food processor.
Give this simple ice cream recipe a go.
Tip: This tastes best when the bananas are really ripe. Meaning, you can see black spots on the skin and it might even be too mushy for you liking.
